"Powerstone: stealing the Scottish Crown Jewels" by Malcolm Archibald

£9.99

ISBN: ISBN 9781905916214

This is a brilliant contemporary novel, set now or next year or perhaps the year after. The heroine, descended from the great Johnnie Armstrong, gets to the final of an American television contest, The Neophyte, not unlike The Apprentice on British TV. After apparently losing, with all the shame and chagrin, she is given a second chance, and sets about trying to steal the Scottish Crown Jewels, which are protected by the police, the Army, and also by a secret ancient society, because of the symbolism and power of the stone in the Sceptre, the Powerstone. This is a beautifully crafted tale, which will keep you wondering what happens next until the end.

P.S. The theft didn't happen this year - we did the Book Launch at the Scottish Storytelling Centre instead, close to the spot where the theft takes place.
